Joint Declaration between the EU, Denmark and Greenland
In March 2015 the European Commission, the Government of Denmark and Government of Greenland signed the Joint Declaration.
The Joint Declaration is a political declaration establishing the relations between the EU, Greenland and Denmark. The declaration recalls the historical, political, economical and cultural ties between the parties and accounts for the various aspects of the current relationship. The declaration defines 7 specific areas for continuing and further strengthening their relations and cooperation.
Finally, the Joint Declaration envisages to further strengthening the relations and cooperation of the parties and endows their mutual relations with a long-term perspective.
