The Department of Foreign Affairs administers a fund with the aim of supporting various Greenlandic and international organizations, groups, companies and individuals who want to develop projects, cooperative relations or engage in other contexts relevant to the foreign policy priorities of the Government of Greenland.
Grants for travel or participation in courses, seminars, trade shows, meetings, projects, etc. can be applied for. Also grants for the hosting of international events in Greenland, such as press activities can be applied for.
Generally, applications must be relevant to the position of Greenland in international terms.
Applicants must specify the following:
- Description of the activity / project
- Purpose of the activity / project
- Relation to the foreign policy priorities of the Government of Greenland (Udenrigspolitiske Strategi)
- Program and invitation, if applicable
- Itemized budget
- Amount applied for
The applicant should write a report to the Department of Foreign Affairs immediately after the activity containing final accounts and a description of the results. The applicant shoulc also send the receipts, invoices etc. to the Department of Foreign Affairs after the activity/project is finished.
Applicants for educational projects should at least be at the graduate level. In addition, the Department of Foreign Affairs reserves the right to reject applicants on the basis of actual assessment and if grants have already been given within the same fiscal year, thus ensuring the widest possible use of the funding. The Department of Foreign Affairs also reserves the right to grant lesser amounts than applied for.
Closing Date for Applications
The Department of Foreign Affairs has no closing date on applications and grants will be allocated for as long as the funding allows.
