  5. Draft terms of reference for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) – Danish version
  6. Draft terms of reference for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) – English version

The pre-consultation is considered as the formal declaration that the company wants a Social Impact Assessment (SIA) and an Environmental Impact Assessment process carried out. The announcement is made by the company informing the authorities and enclosing the draft terms of reference for the SIA and EIA reports, respectively. Additional information about the process for the preparation of the SIA and EIA are stated in “Guidelines on the process and preparation of the of the SIA report for mineral projects” and “Guidelines for preparation an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for mineral exploitation in Greenland”.

The consultation responses received during the pre-consultation shall on equal footing with the eight-week public consultation period be included in a White Paper. The company will prepare two White Papers during the SIA and EIA process. One White Paper in relation to the pre-consultation on the draft terms of reference and one White Paper for the eight-week consultation period on the reports. A White Paper is a document that contains the received responses, reply to the responses and a memo on where relevant and suggestions will be incorporated in the final versions of the terms of reference and in the SIA and EIA reports, respectively.
