Administration of travel activity in accordance with the Executive Order on Access to and Conditions for Travelling in Certain Parts of Greenland

The Executive Order on Access to and Conditions for Travelling on Certain Parts of Greenland applies to access to remote parts of Greenland, including the entire inland ice sheet and glaciers emanating from this. In addition, it also applies to the National Park in Northeast Greenland.

On 1 January 2010, Greenland took over administration of the Executive Order on Access to and Conditions for Travelling in Certain Parts of Greenland. The administration of the Executive Order, which comes under the Danish Criminal Code, was administered by the Danish Polar Centre until 2010.

The Expedition Office under the Ministry of Nature and Environment handles the day-to-day management, with the Chief Constable of Greenland and Arctic Command as consultative partners.
